After traveling to France in 2014, I thought to myself in Verseilles (where the statue of Louis XIV looks like Johnny Cash): if my brother's middle name is Robin and our family name is so similar to "Hood," then I'll call myself "Mark Hood" as an artist in English-speaking countries because of my first name. Only later did I learn that James Dark wrote 14 books about the agent Mark Hood from the 1970s. The name is known to 1% of Europeans (out of 500 million) but to 90% of Americans (out of 360 million). Furthermore, the digital root of my birthdate is also 14, as is the number of letters in my official name with my middle name. Since there are many other Mark Hoods, I added the number 14 to the name.

The artist name was registered by me as a word and image mark for myself at the German Patent and Trademark Office in March 2021.
